Cabinets

Cabinets come in three basic levels: economy or box, mid-range or semi-custom, and custom.

Box cabinets are typically veneer or laminate, instead of solid wood. If they are wood, it is lower-grade pine, birch, or occasionally oak. Drawers do not have dovetail joints and usually have plastic glides. Sizes and amenities like lazy Susan units are limited in choice.

Semi-custom cabinets give you more choices. Cabinets are constructed with a blend of solid wood (usually doors) and veneers. Dovetail joints makes the drawers solid, as do metal glides. Amenities such as pull-out pantries, spice shelves, appliance garages and even recycling centers are available in many lines. Better-quality hinges help doors hang straight for a long time. Cabinets sport durable finishes over beautiful hardwoods, which come in a variety of stains or specialized paint finishes. Cabinets come in set widths and heights, but within those parameters it is possible to get special cabinets.

Custom cabinets are made for your exact space. Built using furniture construction techniques and designed with the individual homeowner in mind, custom cabinets are unique, high-quality, and durable. Drawer glides are heavy-duty and drawers dovetailed. Cabinets are solid wood inside and out. Wood is clear of knots and blemishes. Stains, paint and other finishes are hand-applied.
